Using the Game

These terms cover online play, where you share a game with people you may not know and can type to them. By starting or joining an online game, you agree to them. If you would rather not, every in-person and narrated mode still works, and none of them send anything you type to us.

Zero Tolerance for Abuse

There is no tolerance for objectionable content or abusive players here. Accusing each other is the game. The rest of this is not.

Do not use chat, your display name or your death note to:

  • Harass, threaten, bully or abuse another player.
  • Attack anyone over race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability or age.
  • Post sexual content, and never anything sexual involving a minor.
  • Share personal information, including your own. No real names, addresses, phone numbers, schools, workplaces or social accounts.
  • Pretend to be someone else, or to speak for this game.
  • Flood the chat, advertise, or post links to anything harmful.

Chat is Recorded

Everything you type in an online game is stored on our server with your device identifier, so that a report can be acted on. It is deleted after 5 days, or after 7 days if a report from that game led to a suspension. It is read for no other reason, and it is never sold or shared. Do not type anything you would not want kept. The Privacy Policy has the detail.

Reports and Suspensions

Any player can report another from the roster during a game. If enough different players report the same device across different games, it is suspended from online play automatically: 7 days, then 30 days, then permanently. Suspensions apply to the device, because this game has no accounts.

If you believe a suspension is wrong, appeal it from inside the app. A person will read it, and the decision can be reversed.

Age

Online play is for players aged 16 and over. If you are younger, the in-person and narrated modes are still open to you.

Changes

These terms may be updated from time to time. Changes appear on this page with an updated date, and you may be asked to agree again.
